Diaries, notebooks, and miscellaneous papers, ca. 1889 - ca. 1925. They include pocket appointment books and memorandum books; diaries and memorandum books, the latter including diary entries and memoirs, as well as miscellaneous notes, 1889, 1895-1897, and 1902-1919. Most of the diaries were kept in Rome, Italy, and, from 1915, in Pau, France, although Seton traveled a good deal during this period: to Egypt in 1896, to India and Ceylon in 1910-1911, and throughout Europe in 1889, 1909, and 1914. He also made several visits to America, including a stay in Jersey City in 1897. There are also expense books for 1903-1909; typed notes of his travels, in 1889, 1902-1903, and 1914-1921; his passport, his French identity card, the bull appointing him Archbishop, and miscellaneous items, including many visiting cards. There are also some printed books and pamphlets, including corrected proofs of Seton's article "Two months in Spain," some guidebooks and pamphlets on religious subjects, and a copy of Maria Longworth Storer.
